Toyota Tacoma 4th Gen 2024-2025, Old Man Emu BP-51 Rear Shock Absorber

A loaded Tacoma on washboard and whoops pushes a stock rear shock past what it can handle. The ride gets harsh, the bed hops, and the rear end bottoms out on the big hits.

The Old Man Emu BP-51 is a bypass shock with a 51 mm (2 in) bore and a remote reservoir. Position and velocity sensitive damping adds control at the end of travel, and the reservoir holds more oil to help keep the temperature down. The body is 6061 aluminum with a Type III hard anodized finish.

Fit the shock for 0 to 2 in of lift, set compression and rebound across 10 levels each, and adjust as the load changes. The rear stays settled from the trailhead to home.
