A second-gen Tacoma works its engine hard on grades and washboard, and hot, restricted intake air does not help. The factory air box limits how much air the engine can take in.
The K&N 63 Series pairs a rotationally molded HDPE tube with a washable, oiled cotton filter in an oversized conical design. A custom heat shield helps protect intake air from engine bay heat, and the filter needs service only every 100,000 miles under normal highway driving.
Remove the factory intake, fit the tube, shield and filter, and clamp them down. Typical installation takes 60 minutes or less with simple hand tools.
