A Tacoma that runs hot on a long climb pulls heated air from the engine bay through its stock intake. That warm air costs the engine on every steep grade.
The K&N 63 Series AirCharger uses a rotationally molded HDPE tube and a washable, oiled cotton filter in an oversized conical design. A custom heat shield helps protect intake air from engine bay heat, and the filter needs service only every 100,000 miles under normal highway driving.
Remove the factory intake, fit the tube, shield and filter, and clamp them down. Typical installation takes 60 minutes or less with simple hand tools.
