Engine bay heat is the enemy of intake air, and an older Tacoma packs plenty of it. Pulling warm air through a stock air box costs the engine on every climb.
The K&N AirCharger kit uses a rotationally molded HDPE tube with a washable, oiled cotton filter in an oversized conical design. A custom heat shield helps protect intake air from engine bay heat, and the filter needs service only every 100,000 miles under normal highway driving.
Remove the factory intake, mount the tube, shield and filter, and clamp them down. Typical installation takes 60 minutes or less with simple hand tools.
