Overland Vehicle Systems HD Bushveld 2 Cantilever Hard Shell Rooftop Tent, 2-Person, Grey/Green Info & Specs

A hard shell opens fast and closes fast, which matters when the weather turns or the miles run long. The HD Bushveld 2 from Overland Vehicle Systems is a cantilever hard shell rooftop tent that sleeps two, with an ABS polymer shell and a pop-up cantilever opening. The body is 280g rip-stop polycotton Oxford with a 3500 PU waterproof coating, and a high-density foam mattress is built in.

Mount it on the rack, release the latches and let it open. Two people get a raised, dry bed at the end of each day.

"First of all, the shopping experience through Trail Recon was great. This item arrived within two weeks even though estimated shipping was 45-60 days, and they had the best price I found. That’s where the good stops. Don’t buy this tent. I had a soft shell and the whole reason I went to a hard shell was less time climbing up and down putting the cover on. The jokes on me because this tent is impossible to close without repeatedly climbing up and down trying to get all the tent fabric tucked into it. You can’t store anything in it, I have to pull all my sleeping bags and blankets out, which defeats the purpose of a rooftop tent in the first place. I have to literally climb on top of it and fight to get the latch straps to catch. The mattress is thin and useless, you will need some supplemental padding which, you guessed it, will have to come out to get the tent closed. The tent has zero instructions included to explain the bags and pieces that come with it. It is very low profile and I guess will have less drag than my soft shell, but for it to be this useless I really wish I had just bought a cheap ground tent. I have literally no advantage with this tent over a cheap Wal-Mart ground tent. I have an OVS 270 awning that I really like, but they seriously dropped the ball with this tent. Oh, by the way the box arrived shredded and with huge gaping holes in it."
