The factory skid plate on a TJ hangs low, and every ledge and boulder finds it first. A cracked case or a bent plate is a long way to walk out from, and it is easy to start worrying before the trail even gets hard.

The TeraFlex HD BellyUp Skid Plate Kit tucks the plate up out of the way, raising ground clearance by up to 2-1/4in compared with the factory skid plate. It is CNC laser cut and bent from 1/4in steel with a durable black powder coat finish.

Plan the job around the notes below: the kit requires the Short Shaft Kit and some fine-tuning to eliminate driveshaft vibration. Do that, bolt it up, and the underside rides higher and covered.

• Modifications are required when used with Rubicon or Atlas transfer cases.
• Some exhaust adjustments may be necessary.
• Requires the (Extreme) Short Shaft Kit (4444400 and 4444401).
• Requires some fine-tuning and adjustment to eliminate driveshaft vibration.
• A Transfer Case Lowering Kit (1in drop 1900100, 0.5in drop 1900000) is recommended to reduce the driveshaft angle, especially with a 4in or larger lift kit.
• A 1in Body Lift Kit (aluminum 1942100, UHMW 1942101) is recommended for Rubicon models for driveshaft clearance.
