A Wrangler JL driven hard on desert tracks and forest roads asks its front shocks for a lot: soak up the small chatter, then catch the big hit without a bang. Stock dampers fade fast and leave the front end jumpy.

The FOX Factory Race 3.0 Internal Bypass front shock has a 3.0 in aluminum body and 8.84 in of travel. Regulated ports let fluid pass the piston through the first part of the stroke, then force it through near the ends of travel, so the ride stays plush while harsh bottom-outs are controlled. A finned remote reservoir with a heavy-duty piggyback bridge sheds heat, and tool-free DSC adjusters set compression.

Bolt the pair onto the OEM pivots, mount the reservoirs and set the adjusters. The JL stays steady when the pace picks up.
