An oversized spare hangs a lot of weight on the factory tailgate hinges of a Wrangler JL. Over time that load sags the gate and wears the hinges, and a low-mounted tire hurts the departure angle.

The DV8 Offroad body mounted tire carrier moves that weight to the body and sits the tire higher than factory. It fits up to a 40 x 13.50 tire with a -25 max offset, has cam nut adjustment for fitment, and adds two whip or antenna mounts, a padlock hole to deter theft of the spare, and hidden wiring and zip tie tabs.

Drill where needed, bolt the carrier to the body, and load the tire. The gate swings freely and the spare rides higher.
