Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-2026 & Gladiator JT 2020-2026 Rubicon, MetalCloak Chromoly Dog-Legged Tie Rod

Bigger tires and harder trails put a lot of load through the tie rod, and on a Rubicon-based JL or JT the factory piece sits right where rocks find it. A bent tie rod ends the day and leaves the steering vague long before that.

This MetalCloak tie rod uses normalized 4130 chromoly tube, 1.625in OD with a .375in wall. Forged, heat-treated 1-ton dog-leg rod ends use the OE taper and lock nut, clear stock or aftermarket wheels, and limit front-to-back movement so the offset ends cannot flop. Grease boots keep dirt out, and the length adjusts on the vehicle.

Install takes about 30 minutes with no body modification. Set the toe, and the steering is ready for the next rock garden.

Notes

• With stock Rubicon wheels, the smallest wheel spacer that works is 1.75in because of stud length.
