Set the gears, add the ring gear bolts, which are not included, and the rear axle is geared to the ratio you chose. That gives a Wrangler JL, Gladiator JT or Bronco better traction and control. The right ratio delivers more torque at lower speeds, which gives better traction and control on climbs and makes towing easier.
