Coilover shocks promise a big step up, but many bring spring twang, slider slap, clicking and mount squeaks. A Rubicon 392 owner wants the upgrade without the noise.

The TeraFlex Alpine RT coilover system is built for the 4-door JL Rubicon with the 392 powertrain, with front and rear Falcon coilovers (13in stroke) and a 4.5in lift with plus or minus 1.25in of adjustability. Falcon 3.3 series Quick Adjust tuning, JL-specific springs and sealed gimbal lock bearing mounts keep it quiet. This version is for a front JL Rubicon axle and a rear HD 3.25in diameter axle.

Bolt on the coilover brackets, set the ride height, align, and the 392 gets a quiet long-travel suspension.

• Requires wheels with 4.75in backspacing or less, or a 1.75in wheel offset adapter pair (1057000 x 2) for stock wheels, not included.
• Requires a front driveline double cardan upgrade due to increased travel.
• Models with plastic bumpers require removal of the bumper-to-fender wind deflector/splash guards.
• Requires cutting or removal of factory control arm bracketry and spring buckets.
• Light inner fender liner trimming is required.
