Coilover shocks promise a big step up, but many bring spring twang, slider slap, clicking and mount squeaks. A Rubicon owner wants the upgrade without the noise.

The TeraFlex Alpine RT coilover system is built for the 4-door JL Rubicon and matched to the 2.0L/3.6L powertrain, with front and rear JL Rubicon axles. Falcon 3.3 series Quick Adjust coilovers have a 13in stroke front and rear, JL-specific springs and tuning, and a 4.5in lift with plus or minus 1.25in of adjustability. Sealed and booted oversized gimbal lock bearings keep the shocks aligned.

Bolt on the coilover brackets, set the ride height, align, and the Jeep runs a quiet long-travel suspension.

• Requires cutting or removal of factory control arm bracketry and spring buckets.
