On a ledge or a boulder, the rocker panel is what meets the rock first, and a low rail leaves little to stand on when you climb in and out.
The Patriot Series guards weld a 1 3/4in tube step to 2in x 3in steel mounting bars, with 3/16in walls on the bars. The tube works as a steel cushion that keeps the body panels off the rocks, and each end cap is welded shut to keep out debris, water and dirt. They bolt on the way the factory Rubicon sliders do.
Bolt the driver and passenger sets in place and the sills are covered, with a step ready for getting in and out.
