A Rubicon's Dana 44 front axle carries the steering and half the traction, and its ratio has to follow the rear. This Revolution Gear & Axle set fits the front Dana 44 reverse rotation differential in 3.73, 4.10, 4.56, 4.88, 5.13 and 5.38 ratios, with a 24-spline pinion and an 8.5in ring gear cut from 8620 steel. Choose your ratio, set the gears, add the ring gear bolts, which are not included, and the front axle is ready. The right ratio delivers more torque at lower speeds, which gives better traction and control on climbs and makes towing easier.
