Long routes between fuel stops put extra gas on the list, and a Wrangler has few good places to carry it. Cans strapped to the roof or stuffed in the cargo area take up room, shift around and leave a smell in the cab.

The AEV Fuel Caddy uses space that otherwise goes empty: inside the spare tire's wheel and just behind it on the AEV Tire Carrier. It holds 10.2 gallons in cross-link polyethylene, the same type of material used in many factory fuel tanks, and the high mounting spot keeps it away from trail impacts. The height suits gravity-fed refueling, and a shaker siphon is included.

Mount it on the tire carrier, fill it through the large vented cap, and the reserve rides out of the way until the gauge says it is time.
