On a ledge or a boulder, the rocker panel is what meets the rock first, and a low rail leaves little to stand on when you climb in and out.
The Patriot Series guards weld a 1 3/4in tube step to 2in x 3in steel mounting bars, with 3/16in walls on the bars. The tube works as a steel cushion that keeps the body panels off the rocks. They bolt on in the same way as the factory Rubicon sliders and add a tubular step to the low profile rail.
Bolt the driver and passenger sets in place and the sill is covered, with a step ready for getting in and out.
