Rocks and debris hit the differential first, and a stock cover is not built for it. The TeraFlex HD Differential Cover is made to withstand that trail carnage on Dana 30 and Tera30 HD axle housings. It bolts on with the included hardware. Install it and the axle housing has a tougher cover for the next ledge, rock or washout.
