The Gladiator's fiberglass roof is not built to carry a loaded rack on its own. Bolting bars straight to it limits the load and leaves you wondering how the roof is holding up on every washboard road.
The Rhino-Rack Backbone is a vehicle-specific interior and exterior structure for the Gladiator JT. Two mounting plates on each side of the roof connect to an interior frame and the vehicle's roll cage, which gives a maximum roof load rating of 100 kg (220 lb).
Fit the interior frame, mount the plates and add the roof rack legs and bars of your choice, sold separately. The roof becomes a load space you can count on.
