A Gladiator bed fills up fast with camp gear, tools and water, and soft rear springs sag under that load. Coils that rattle as the loops touch add noise on every washboard road.

These MetalCloak True Dual Rate rear coils are high-tensile chrome-silicon steel with a 21in free length, so they stay in the buckets at full droop, and they lift the rear of a JT 3.5in. The dual rate design acts like a lowered coil bucket, steadying the spring, resisting buckling and keeping ride height consistent under load. Elastomer coil sleeves fit alongside the factory sleeves to quiet clatter when coil loops contact. They are tuned for Duroflex control arms and 6Pak or RockSport shocks.

Install takes one to two hours. Get an alignment, load the bed, and the truck keeps its stance.

Notes

• With 600-700 lb in the rear, the 4.5in rear coils are the better match; 300-350 lb suits these 3.5in coils.
• Use the sleeves in addition to the factory coil sleeves.
• Engineered to perform with Duroflex control arms and 6Pak or RockSport shocks.
• MetalCloak advises against powder coating these coils: the baking process can change the steel and cost the coils their lift.
• MetalCloak recommends a suspension alignment by a specialist after installing MetalCloak suspension parts.
