Very well thought out design

"I bought this to install a 12,000 Badland Apex winch to a 2024 Gladiator Rubicon with the stock bumper. After reading reviews about modifications to other plates, I choose this Grimm mounting plate since it seemed to be mod-free during the install. The instructions and accompanying pictures were perfect. No need to grind down any part of the plate, frame or clutch handle. No need to re-route the wiring harness to avoid any interference from the grill. Install was easy. Everything will fit tight so you need to go step by step carefully. You’ll definitely want to torque the winch mounting bolts before putting the bumper back on. And having some flex head rackets will help. Overall, highly recommend this plate with the 2024 Gladiator stock bumper and Badland winch."

Installed

"I installed this on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 392 with a Harbor Freight 12,000 pound winch and it was easy to install. The winch didnt touch the bumper or touch the grill with the winch wires like some people have said. I havent had to use winch but over all I am pretty happy with the winch plate and the way it turned out."

Grimm offroad winch plate

"Solid unit with heavy gauge steel. Install was fairly easy with no modifications to my 2024 Rubicon 4xe needed. Have only used it so far to tension the winch line so can't speak its durability under high load usage, but seems quite robust."

"Got this on sale. All one piece construction and a great easy fit. Worth the money to not have to modify anything. Bolts straight into place. Perfect fit. I too had to get longer bolts for my badlands fair leed. But all the hardware is included. I'm new to jeeps. This went onto my 2022 JLUR Diesel.Funny thing about jeeps. Everything is light weight folded sheet metal. I just bolted a 14k winch mount to a 12k winch all bolted to a thin walled folded sheet metal frame tube. I even call my brother that has be into jeeps forever. He loves his JKUR. Anyway...he said yep...thats the way it goes.Anyway...im sure if u ain't winch savy or not paying attention you could totally wreck ur jeep. The winch won't stop and the winch mount certainly isn't going to fail. The weak link is certainly the jeep frame??.So know what ur doing or don't do it. When again..maybe an 8k winch is the better choice. Long story short.. the mount is great quality. Only hardish part was one nut that secured the bumper. But that really was to bad if you the correct extensions. If your putting a badlands winch into the stock bumper you'll have to do some trimming of the bumper for clearance. Easy work with a cutting blade on your grinder.I'd purchase again and recommend this to friends and family."

"Ouch! I did not want to pay $300 for a winch plate. At the same time, I did not want a winch plate that would flex under load. The Badland Apex 12000, which is the winch I installed on this plate, is known to generate enough torque to break its own frame rails, so I knew I needed to bolt it to the strongest winch plate I could to reinforce it. Other popular winch plates for the factory Jeep steel bumper measure 4mm, 3/16 or 6mm, and come in multiple pieces. I feel much better having this one-piece 1/4 steel Grimm plate under that winch. So while pricy, it was not out of line with other competitive winch plates and thicker and more solid than the others.Installation was mostly pretty easy. The winch plate fit precisely in the Jeep bumper, so it all went together with no issue. The only difficult was bolting the fairlead through the bumper and the front tabs of the Grimm winch plate. This part of the installation process was skipped over in the installation video linked to on the Grimm website. Due to the thickness of the steel, I had to get longer bolts than those provided for the Badland fairlead. And then there was the difficulty of holding the nuts through the fairlead opening with a wrench so they could be tightened down. I actually bent one of my combination flat wrenches to make this easier."
