The Factor55 Fast Fid is a compact two-piece splicing tool machined from 6061 aluminum, red anodized, with a wire grip that holds the end of the rope. Rope bury data and a measuring scale are laser engraved on it, and it comes in a Cordura carry pouch with a belt loop.
It works with synthetic rope from 3/8 to 5/8in, and the repair takes minutes.
