Diode Dynamics HitchMount C1R LED Pod Reverse Light Kit, 7-Pin

Backing a truck up in the dark goes better with real light behind it. This Diode Dynamics HitchMount kit puts one C1R LED pod in a 2-inch trailer hitch receiver, with a snap-in adapter for 2.5-inch receivers, and adds a high-power reverse light and an additional running light. The C1R also adds a 4th brake light.

The 7-pin trailer harness plugs into the vehicle's trailer connector, and the pod runs as a red running light with the tail lights, then switches to a high-power reverse light in reverse. The install takes about 5 minutes.

• Newer trucks with trailer management systems monitor the power draw on the trailer connector. Depending on the year and make of the vehicle, the HitchMount LED may interact with this system if equipped.
• A locking trailer pin can be used instead of the snap-fit pins with a quick modification.
