A Silverado 1500 with a winch needs a front guard and a tray that carry the load together. The Westin HDX Winch Mount Modular Grille Guard is a 3-piece steel guard with a full punch plate grille, 2in tube wrap-around wings and bolt-on headlight guards. Its tray brackets mount directly to the vehicle frame, and the winch tray is tested to a minimum straight line pull of 16,500 lbs. It takes most medium frame 8,000 to 12,000 lbs. winches up to 10.25in tall. Mount the tray, bolt on the guard, trim the air dam as noted, and the front end has protection and a winch mount in one.
