The parts that come in the bare finish are finished to a point where texturized powder coat or Bedliner will eliminate any blemishes from the welding and grinding processes. For a gloss paint finish, smooth powder coat, vinyl wrap, etc..., bodywork including body filler, high build primer, and/or sandable primer will need to be used to smooth out the surface finish. Exposed weld joints, spot welds, grind marks as well as other imperfections from the manufacturing process are the norm rather than the exception for parts purchased bare (i.e., not powder coated).
